Welcome to Radiation Oncology Centers of Ventura County
Providing radiotherapeutic cancer solutions since 1979, the Radiation Oncology Centers of Ventura County are the premier cancer treatment facilities with a very simple philosophy: To deliver the most efficient, effective and technologically current cancer care in Southern California. Our medical group is a founding member of The Cancer Center of Ventura County, an affiliate of UCLA Medical Center. Our centers are led by renowned radiation oncologists Dr. Timothy A. O’Connor and Dr. Henry Z. Montes. Both are specialists in innovative radiotherapy treatment delivery, and both are recognized experts in stereotactic radiosurgery. Together, they lead a highly trained team that conducts 6D Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), IMRT, Superficial Radiation Therapy (SRT) for skin cancer, Image-Guidance Radiation Therapy (IGRT), and 3-D Conformal Radiation Therapy among other treatments.
Our Physicians
Dr. Timothy A. O’Connor and Dr. Henry Z. Montes are both UCLA-trained Radiation Oncologists who bring a wealth of professional experience to Radiation Oncology Centers of Ventura County. Dr. O’Connor is Chairman of the Cancer Program at St. John’s Regional Medical Center and has been named one of the “Best Doctors in America: Pacific Region”. Dr. Montes is fluent in Spanish and the recipient of many honors and awards, including the “Celebration of Excellence Award” from the Cancer Support Community – Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara. Both doctors are known for their comprehensive and compassionate care.
Timothy A. O’Connor, MD, Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Timothy A. O’Connor had the opportunity to work with grief expert and author Elisabeth Kübler Ross. His experience with her during the time she started her London hospice program led him toward the field of oncology. Her compassionate care for cancer patients inspired him, and he credits her with helping him to understand the relationship between life and death. More…

Henry Z. Montes, MD, Radiation Oncologist
A Ventura County native, Dr. Montes is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine and served as Medical Director of the Radiation Oncology Department at St. Bernardine Medical Center before joining ROCVC. Fluent in Spanish and the recipient of many honors and awards, he believes in the “team approach” to cancer care, appreciates the value of knowledge, and keeps his practice at the forefront of technology.
